Neither do most other humans. Best to learn that early.
Humans are 98.5% genetically identical to South African bonobo chimpanzees. Chimpanzees do not have a concept for "chimpanzee" - only their local troop and their immediate family.
The same applies to humans. The only people who "care" about you are family - assuming your family isn't composed of asshats, as many are - and whoever looks like you and acts like you and has formed some sort of bond with you based on their own emotional and survival needs. Everyone else is the "Other". This is why no one cares if hundreds of thousands of people are butchered in some other country like Israel.
(I'm a special case - I mostly despise all humans as a species.)
I can understand kids getting it wrong, they don't have the necessary experiences (yet; they will get them, including from their own family.) But when adults get "attached" to an AI, that's ridiculous and represents a serious lack of development of functioning human intelligence, not to mention emotional resilience, in this society. And don't get me started on "AI girlfriends" - that's just, I don't know, porn is far better than that.
I do appreciate the capabilities of AI to solve issues in a very almost-human manner. I've used Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview and DeepSeek to solve some serious computer problems, and you're almost forced to treat them like a human expert because their detailed knowledge is so vast. But even there, you have to be on the alert for where they go off track and make mistakes that only someone with decent experience would recognize.

Excellent article! You should be writing for a living! Love the explanation liking ChatGPT to a cartoon character.
